What I see that I believe will affect the way people will vote is for one thing a lot of people think that Obama will be better candidates for making our country improve. McCain only had 23% of people who thought he would make America a better country and Obama had 53%. Another thing I noticed was that more people have confidence in McCain as a good dealer with international crises; but it was very close. The poll also showed that the majority of people think that McCain would be faster to take military action so if you agree with taking military action then you would vote for McCain and if not then you would vote for Obama. Finally I noticed that it was almost a tie between the poll if the candidate will make the right choice for the problem in Iraq. That means that it is almost exactly half and half on the Iraq situation.
Many people have these main concerns: America’s image to the world, how they’ll handel a crisis, problems with other countries, and the war in Iraq; many people think that Obama will help improve America’s self image than McCain would. Also a great majority of people believe that McCain will make better decisions on the Iraq war. People also know that Obama will be able to handel foreign affairs well. Also people think that McCain will handel a crisis well.

I think the main things that people would see are the quick response to war and the image of the U.S. to the world. I think people would look at this because they want to have the U.S. to look better in the world so more people will want to live here. They would want to look at war response because they would want to make sure the country could defend itself should it get attacked. They would also want him to be able to make carefull desitions during a world crisis. These are all very important

I think that more people feel uneasy about Barrack Obama’s approach to the Foreign policy and national security than John McCain’s approach because Obama wants to use diplomacy instead of violence. It is apparent that Americans would feel safer with McCain’s more violent approach to national security, than Osama’s approach with diplomacy. They would feel safer because they have been used to this sort of violent approach for the last eight years. They are, in a way, afraid of a change in the government and used to government by fear. So this idea would sway many Americans to vote for McCain due to their lack of adventure and their fear, shall we say? The polls also showed that more people would expect Obama to spend too much money on diplomacy, than McCain would be too quick to take military action. This shows that some Americans are encouraged to think about money, which makes sense due to this time of economical crisis. This money, in Obama’s administration, would be spent on diplomacy. However they are not looking back at how much money was spent on the war. This is crazy amounts of money we don’t have that my generation will have to pay for. So I think that possibly another poll would be smart to compare who would think that Obama would spent too much money on foreign policy and the McCain would spend too much money on war.
If the polls are any indication, the polls say there is doubt in the voting public. The fact the 53% are uneasy says enough right there. Uneasy is how most of the people that I know feel. In past elections, many people stood for one particular candidate or another. This time, if you ask someone who they like, they just say, I am not saying. Or that it is private information. I bet there will be some amazing results as the election process continues into the final month.
Well I do think that Mcain will be to quick to use military action considering he's believes in George Bushes foreign policy. And Obama did say that he will be using diplomcay in the middle east rather than violence.Interestingly enough both Mcain and obama got around the same % of people who think they will make good desicions about the war in Iraq.
i think most of the information given is right.most of it is very accurate. like the one where it says too qouick to take milirary action barack obama has 10% and mccain had 63% i think thats right adn whats going to happen if either one is president.
I think that the main factor that would affect how someone votes this upcoming election would be confidence in the candidates ability to deal with a worldwide crisis. Since we are going through a crisis right now, many people have seen the effects on the housing market and such. More people are confident with McCain because they think that he has more experience, possibly because he was involved with Vietnam. I think an interesting question was "If elected president, would the candidate would make the U.S. image worse?". I was not surprised to see that the majority thought that Obama would improve the U.S. self image. I say this because it's said that McCain agrees with G.W.B 90% of the time. Also, what many people want is change.

In a way yes. The reason being because if someone who was neutral on who to vote for in this upcoming election, they might look at this and say something like, “Oh well John McCain is voted most likely going to blunder into another war! Im voting for Obama!!” which maybe is not true but still. If people just look at these poles and immediately say “I’m voting for Obama because he has a better economic view than McCain.” That is why something like these poles are bad because they show bias to candidate, and someone who knows nothing about politics might be persuaded into the wrong decision. What I’m trying to say is that the candidates will defiantly be affected by these poles because of people who know nothing about politics. Barrack Obama and John McCain both need to think about this sort of thing because of these people. It would be a perfect world if there were no people like, but unfortunately there are people out there like that. Another thing that effects the voting is the Electoral College. I mean, if there was no electoral college that Al Gore would have been our president, because he had the majority of votes, but because of the electoral college he lost.
I think many things will decide on who people will vote for. One of the main problems is if people have enough trust in the candidates. People have more trust in MacCain because he has been around longer. People are scared because obama is alot younger and does not have alot of history in a office.
People are mostly concerned with the confedince they have in the canidates and the decisions on the Iraq War. Many people want Obama in the first poll, but they want McCain in the last one. They want Obama because he has new ideas that have the potential to save our economy, and they want McCain because he is more experienced. Me, I like Obama, and any one who likes him is cool. Many people are concerned about the war. I think whatever candidate promis more about bringing home troops will see the biggest results. Another issue that will see many votes is the economic crisis. Due to the high raise in gas prices mthe candidate that promisis to better our econmic system will see many votes.
Americans seem generally more concerned about what the candidates will do pertaining to our situation in Iraq. Probably the best way to deal with our conflict or any other conflict we have with a foreign country would be with out weapons. In the 4th poll, both sides thought that their candidates would have the ability to make the right decisions about the war in Iraq. People thought in the third poll that John McCain would be too quick to take military action and Barack Obama would spend too much time on diplomacy. Personally, I think Obama's approach on the situation is better. I think that the third poll will effect people most in the election, because they may want to settle conflicts with weapons or with diplomacy.
I believe that they all will affect the way that people will vote in the election, but the first question, “Do you have confidence in the candidate’s ability to deal with an international crisis or are you un easy about his approach?” this I because it shows how much trust the American people are giving to our candidates. Barrack Obama got 41% for confidence, 12% for no opinion, and 53% for uneasy; john McCain got 49% for confidence, 2% for no opinion and 47% for uneasy. To my this show how Obama isn’t as trusted/have as much confidence for the people as McCain does, but McCain is almost 50-50 as shown for polls, this leads me to believe that it is cutting it pretty close. Another question that caught my attention was the third one, “What would concern you more about the candidate’s handling of problems with other countries?” this show how involvement in other countries would go, for Obama he has 10% for too quick to take military action, 33% for no opinion, and 67% for spend too much time on diplomacy,; McCain has 63% for too quick to take military action, 46% for on opinion and 17% for spend too much time on diplomacy. This data shows how Obama is going for more for a diplomatic way tawrd communicating with other countries and McCain is taking more of a military stand. This would really affect the way the people would vote because of the way that they think it would be right to communicate with other countries. The last question that caught my attention happened to be the last which said “How confident are you in the candidate’s ability to make the right decision about the war in Iraq?” This caught my attention because of how close the votes for each candidate where, this show that both candidate where aware of the situation and are willing to do something about it. For these poll results I can see that there are in many ways, the fact that both candidates are going to change cretin things, but what is different is what they think is more important to what needs to be done and accomplish to create a better future for America.
I definitely think that the polls affect the way the people vote for a candidate. For example, many people thought that Obama would make the image of the U.S. better, and McCain would have really no effect. This could affect the way you vote for someone. An even bigger idea, is on whether or not the candidates have the confidence to deal wisely with an international crisis. This is major. Only 8% percent more people thought that McCain has more confidence. This could be because he was involved with the war in Vietnam. They also may think this way because because people think he has more experience from being in the war, but I like Obama better, and I think he has more experience. This is why the polls are important to when it comes to your decision.
Well the way this poll stands, it looks like the people have much more confidence in McCain on the main issuses. The one's dealing with and International crisis and the abiility to make the right decision in a time of war. ( poll one and poll four) Then, on the other hand, they think Senator McCain would be quick to act or take military action more so than Obama and Obama would just deal with spending too much time on diplomacy. (poll 3) Then finally, the 2nd poll states that the public is in favor of Obama making the image of the world better.
If you take all these things in to account, the real issues, the ones that seem most important in running a country, the polls favor Senator McCain. So I believe they would vote for McCain.
McCain won the crowd on two of the poll questions, confidence and Iraq war (by 2). Although Obama won the vote on the most important question, which is, who will make better change? In my opinion that is most important for our country. The majority of the votes under that question for John McCain went to no change. By the looks of this poll Obama has the win if the people vote based on what is best for the country, but McCain has the win if the people are going to vote on their opinion of specifics that need to come first.
I agree with bridget, obama definatly has the most votes when it comes to change in the country and good descions. John McCain pretty much has the votes of who will make better choices for the war in iraq. If people vote based on the idea that one president will change the country and make the right choices based on the country obama will win. If people vote based on what they think about the war or about national security, McCain is most likely the candidate to win.
I think in these poll results by having less people vote for Barack Obama because they are not confident with his foreign policy. More people say that McCain will have no effect on U.S.A's image. McCain will be too quick to take military action. I think that he will take military action to quickly because he has been in the military and he fells strongly about that subject.The ability to make right decisions will not effect the polls grately because they are almost dead even.
If a condidate does badly on more 'subjects' than the other, more people would vote for the 'A+ student'. They would want someone who knows what there doing, and that they are doing it correctly.
These polls will affect the way people will vote in the upcoming election by so much. From what i saw, John McCain won two poll questions, but Barack Obama won the most important question of all... how will they change America and he won better. Most people do believe that Obama will make America stronger through the tough times we have now. McCain won the war opinion action and won having a stronger confidence level only by having experience. Those aren't really what people look at when they are choosing a leader to lead their country.
I think that it would depend on the person if it affected them or not. Some people think that these are the facts but they are just polls by people and they might even change their minds. On the other hand other people would realize that it is just other people’s opinion and would just try and see what other people have to have and take it into consideration. What I think would affect people the most is the question where it asks who would be able to make the right decisions because if you make a president made wrong decisions a lot the country would be a mess. With McCain having more votes for that I think it would change some people’s minds about who they want for president. I also think that the question who would make the country a better image to other parts of the world. This would affect voters because some of parts of the world that are our allies, so we would want to make a good impression on them so they wont get mad or weaken our partnership.

With question three, you can see Obama is more likely to do a lot with diplomacy, and McCain will do take more military action. So a way this question can impact voters is if you think we need to be more diplomatic in our approach to other countries than you'll vote for Obama. If you think we need more military action you'll vote for McCain. With question two many people think Obama will enhance Americas image better than McCain would. So let’s say you’re a businessman/woman who travels around the world, you’re going to vote for Obama because other countries will look at you better. I think questions one and four are won by McCain because of the experience factor. People think because John McCain has more experience, he will be able to make better decisions when it comes to the war in Iraq and any international crisis. All in all, I think experience is a big issue.

I think polls have too big a roll in persuading the elections. They are basically voters seeing what other people have to think and then following the group, like lemmings. For example, undecided voters will read that the majority of voters think that Barak Obama will strengthen America’s image. When they read that they will immediately think that Obama is the right choice, even if they knew nothing about his plans. This can also work the other way. If that same person was to read that 67% think that he takes too much time on military decisions then that person would be swayed toward McCain. What matters is how the person reads it. They could focus on the pros of one candidate or the cons of another. Very few people will read this with a completely open mind and observe the polls entirely. Also it seems that these polls are fairly equal, without one candidate really leading every poll. Polls like these are also dangerous because we don’t know if the information here is completely true. The numbers could have been changed by the media. Personally, I believe that the election would be better off without polls like these that don’t give us any real information, just say what others think.
What i see in theses polls on the foreign policy is that McCain is winning in 3 of 4 of the polls. People believe in McCain because he was in the military. They feel that because of this he has experience with foreign policy. But even though Obama is winning in only one of the 4 polls, it is the most important one to me. The poll Obama is winning in is which candidate will make the U.S image better in the world. I feel this is more important because it will encourage countries to help us and not hate us so much.
I think that the people will vote for is what they agree with based on what the candidates' ideas are. For example, the poll where it says if the candidates will make the image of America better or worse in the world or have no effect, 53% think that Obama will have a better image to the world, but less think that about McCain. I think that people who want action and quick action would not vote for Obama because he didn't want the troops in Iraq that quick in the first place. He spends time on foreign diplomats to make peace with them. Also a lot of people (63%) thought that McCain is too quick on military action instead of first attempting to make peace with them. S o, a lot of people don't want military action, but peace. On the other hand, some people like and want military action instead of talking to the foreign diplomat. There are many different ideas that come to my head when I see these polls and how they may affect the way people vote in this years election. One of the biggest things I saw from this chart is that almost double the amount of people think that Barack Obama will give the US a better image to the world over McCain. I believe that this may be beccause if most of the people in America are not happy with the image that America has now, John McCain has voted with Current president Bush around 90% of the time. This displayes that McCain will keep about the same image that is being shown now. Another point from this diagram is that about the same percentage of people thought that John McCain and Barack Obama are going to be able to make the right decision about Iraq. This surprises me because the two candidates have opposite points of view about this topic, so i would think that people would either sway for or against either of the candidates views. My last point is that with the question, "what would concern you more about the candidate's handling of problems with other countries?,"is very distinct in the way the cart flows. Only ten percent of the people in the poll beleved that Barack Obama will be too quick to take military action while, 67% of the people thought that he will spend too much time on diplomacy. This would make sense because Barack Obama is not about taking military action but to create diplomacy. With McCain it was the opposite way, 63% of the people who were asked this question in the pollthought that McCain would be too quick to take military action, while only seventeen percent of people thought he would spend too much time on creating diplomacy. This concernes me because this country at the presant time doesn't need anymore military conflicts than we are already in.
On theses polls of foreign policy so far McCain is winning. I believe that people strongly agree with McCain because he was in the military. Even though McCain won this vote, Obama has won a few others as well. In which I think are more necessary toward the election, such as "the candidate who will make the U.S image better in the world." I agree with lucas when he said polls have too much to do with elections. Its almost like peer presure because as lucas said other people see what who you are voting for. This could pursuad people into voting for somone they really dont like. For example you're friend might be voting for McCain, and you like Obama. If you see who you're friend is voting for you might vote for McCain instead of Obama. This poll shows that 41% of people think that Barack Obama will able to deal with an international crisis while 48% feel that John McCain will be able to. Fifty three percent believe that Obama will make the U.S. look better in the World while only 23% feel that McCain will make the U.S. look better in the world. Many people feel that Obama would spend too much time on diplomacy but people feel that McCain would be too quick to take military action. It was pretty close about Iraq though. 56% feel that Obama would make the right decision in Iraq while 58% feel that McCain will make the right decisions. I think that although a small amount of voters will change their mind because of the poll and what the people think and I believe that these people are just too lazy to gater information and make their own decision. Many people such as myself feel that polls are inaccurate and can be turned into a really biased part of the media and so this will not change their vote. A big part of the controversy is the Iraq war and the fact that many people feel that both the Candidates will make good decisions but if you ask me who cares about the polls think for yourself.
I think that the second question does not matter that much because we already have a bad image on the wourld. We have to get the people in our countries trust back so why worry about that first. But, I do not think that these reasults are accuarte because their is always a chance for bias. Like one dark complecity who he is voteing for and he said, "Obama". But, then I asked him why and he said, "because he is black". Then I asked him any other reason and he said, "no".
I think that these poll results will somewhat affect the way people vote in the presidential election. People think that Barrack Obama is spending too much time on diplomacy, John Mccain is taking a more violent approach. I think the way these statistics affect the way people vote in the presidential election depends on what the people who vote want from a president. Most people think that Barack Obama will make the United States' image in the world better. So if the majority of the people voting think that the United States’ world image is the most important thing to work on in this nation, then Barack Obama would probably win the presidential election. Most people are more confident in John McCain’s decisions on the war in Iraq, and are also more confident with his ability to deal wisely with an international crisis than they are with Barack Obama. If the majority of people think that the war in Iraq and how a president’s ability to deal with an international crisis are the most important things that factor in choosing a president, then John McCain is most likely to win the presidential election. My point is that it depends on what people think are president’s most important traits and techniques when it comes to the outcome of the presidential election.
I think that these polls will have a big affect on the way people vote. People who are not that informed on the election may use polls like this to help them on their decision. Voters may see that a lot of people think Obama will improve America’s image and follow what other people say. Instead of informing themselves on the issues and forming their own opinion, they may look to poles like this to see what the rest of America thinks. People who don’t know much about one of the candidates may look to poles and switch their votes based on what other people say.
Voters seem to be equally divided on which candidate will make good decisions about the war in Iraq. McCain has a small advantage with voters who are concerned about international crisis. However, many people may vote for Obama because they believe that he will give the United States a different and better image to the rest of the world. Well what I think will effect people's voting is the way that the people may not have a lot of confidence in the way the president can deal with national problems. The votes seem to be divided equally among the two candidates. But what is unusual is that the group of people voting are voting very differently for each category. I am surprsed that people voted for McCain for the Iraq question considering all the names he has been called etc.. all to relate him to the Bush Adminstration. Many people dont want to go with Bush/McCains plan for Iraq and the U.S. There are very few people that are neutral and apathetic to the results of the poll. That can be good because it is easier to tell the things that might effect the way the people will vote. Such as, Iraq war decisions, problems with other countries and change for our country. That is my opinion on those poll results.
I think that this poll alone will cause alot of people to switch to either side. If you were someone who was more intrested is solving one issue and that candidate suportd that same issue most people would vote for that person on that reason. But you will always have people who just go with the polls say and vote for that person withouht being informed at all. People could also not realy care abput the polls and just vote on what they think.

I see in these polls that someone who is for Obama might like a better reaction to threats and/or crisises with military action but in these polls it shows that Obama would handle it more diplomatic than in a militarian way. Also on the other side someone who is for McCain might want the U.S. to have a better image in the world so would see that poll that was taken and then start leaning toward Obama since more people believe that he'll give America a better image internationally. In the poll it says that McCain would deal with international happenings better than Obama so a person concerned about international events or crisises would then lean toward McCain who would supposedly handle these smoother than Barack would. So all in all this poll could change some ones vote to the other candidate or strengthen their poisition in which they stand. !!Yes 50th comment exactly!!

I agree with amost all the the polls exept one. the one i dont agree with is that obamas national cecurty plan isn't as good as senetor John McCain's. i think that obama has coverd everything most people are woried about. I think these polls can very well depict who might be president for this years election. I noticed many things. One that strikes me the most is that Barrack Obama has almost twice as many votes compared to McCain in the question the asked which candidate do you think will make a better image in the world. I agree with Ellery. McCain believes in much of what Bush thinks, but Obama is looking for change. If people don't like the way the world is today more people are going to vote for Obama. The one question that i thought had a strange turn out was "How confident are you in the candidates ability to make the right decisions about the war in Iraq?" Obama and McCain were almost tied and they have completely opposite opinions; i would think that one side would be stronger than the other. Overall i think polls are an interesting way to see other peoples' opinion.

Obama may not move too quickly with taking military action; however voters suggest that he may plan on spending too much time on diplomacy. About half of the voters are confident in Obama and McCain's ability to make the right decisions in Iraq. They both have about 50% of the voters. This shows that the country is pretty split on what they want to do in Iraq since the candidates have opposite ideas about the war.

i agree with the resolts of the first questine because McCain has military back ground and i think he would know how to handel a world crisis. i also agree with the second questine. i agree with it because Obama want to make america a better place and i havent heard McCain talk about making a clenner america alot.i agree with all the qUESTINS.
I think that people that are more concerned with war and violence would rather be with John McCain. The people who care more about diplomacy will stick with Obama. Also the people who want America's image and reasoning to change will vote for Obama. But those, like the families of veterans or shoulders, are going to be more concerned with how the war in Iraq will be handled. Since John McCain is more experienced with war....the citizens concerned with the war at hand will most likely vote for him.
I bolove that people who are not sure about what the canidates are working for. It also shows how many people think that they are going to do what the say. It shows the person that reads the article what the canidates will most likely do when they are elctied as preisdent of the United States of America. It also shows what the people of America thinks that the president is going to do when they are electied for president. People who are also not sure that they would be voting for the right president. This would help them know alittle more about the president that they are going to want to vote for. It is more important to make a imformed vote then a popularity vote. When i had saw that McCain would rather go into military action. Barack Obama would rather talk to the poeple that Barack was thinking of starting a war on.I bolove that more American troops would not have to go to war when there is really no reseon to go fight against the country.

I think the big thing with all of these poll resilts is security. A main concern is security. Therefore, the canidate with the most secure idea for America's future will probably have these poll in the bag. However, many of the votes also went to the opposite side from the positive results. This implies that the canidate may NOT have a good plan for America's future security. The poll results also have a middle column, no opinion. And one more thing, The "If elected president, would the canidate make the United States better, worse, or have no effect" question is slightly more important to the election, the results show that Barack would make it 53% better compared to McCain 23% better. This is almost the summary to the whole poll results, since in 53% of peoples oppinions, Barack has a better security policy, which makes him "more popular" in the polls. I'm not trying to be degrading to McCain, I'm just using the chart data.
