first i noticed that most of the young voters are going to vote for obama. and most of the older voters are going to vote for McCain. i thought that was kind of intesting because i think most of those people are just voting for Obama because they think he is cool or something. But probley most of them never have watched even one of his dibates. i think all the older people want to vote for mcCian because they have heard about him during the war and they know that he has acutally done somthing in his life unlike Obama who just talks about doing stuff and basicly just runs his mouth alot. then the middle age people are pretty mutch tied between Obama and McCain. i think that happened because they they know many good thing about each and they don't know who to vote for
I am very shocked at the number of young people that want Barack Obmama so much. I think that group of poeple is more worried about the environment. And then 65+, the majority wants John McCain. This was not a surprise because John McCain is in that age group. Plus, they are worried the most about healthcare, which John McCain is very worried about.
This is amazing because the percentages are relitvly the same they're both about half. So I think that Barack Obama will win because the younger voters, are voteing for obama unlike the elder voters that vote for McCain. sSeing that McCain is older then Barack he will get more fo the elder voters while Obama will get the younger voters. The voters from 18-64 tend to have a tad bit higher percentage for obama unlike McCain where he gets more of the
65+. so i was really shocked by this. Vote for change Obama 08'
I don’t think the votes changed that much. Maybe some areas of age changed there mind, but for the most part it stayed the same, there was more for Obama in the beginning, and at the end. Also most people who were older voted for john mc. cane, but the younger people want the younger president. The thing that most surprised me was that both votes in the younger section went down. I expected it to go up in the younger people. I don’t agree with Kyle that “most of those people are just voting for Obama because they think he is cool or something”. Mc. Cane is the one just saying things, mostly like “we can do this” during the debate last night. I don’t think he under stands what happens if “we can’t do this”. He sounds fake, and probably won’t do anything, must continue the way bush is.
The thing I see is the younger people favor Obama. Older people favor both. What does this mean? This means Obama is registering new voters while gaining new voters. Whilst, McCain is barely holding onto older voters and he's loosing new voters. The other thing I noticed is McCain was more popular a few weeks ago than he is now. This is a result of the bad economy. These numbers are good for Obama. Something would need to change for McCain to regain voters of all ages.
From what I had saw by the chart. It looks like Barack Obama is going to win the election over McCain. It saws that Barack Obama has many more younger people voting for him in the presidental election. I think that Barack Obama is going to win the election because of the number of voters that are going to vote for him. John McCain will be able to win most of the oolder poeple because that is were he is having a increase in the number of people that are going to vote for him. It also shows that BarackObama has been gaining voters and John McCain has been losing the amount of voters that he had. I think that Barack Obama's chances pf winning is going up and up because he is having more and more people that are 18-49 and 65 and older. John McCain keeps losing voters and if he doesn't get more voters he will lose the presidental election. The groups that john McCain is losing voters in is 30-49year old. Barack Obama is also losing voters in the same area in the chart.
In this chart I saw that alot of young voters like Obama, middle aged voters were stuck between McCain and Obama; and the older voters favored McCain the most. I think that young voters like Obama beacause they want some major changes to happen, the older voters probably want to win the Iraq war having them vote for McCain since he has more war experience. The middle aged voters like both McCain and Obama. I think the numbers mean that young voters are more concerned with the enviornment, poverty, and gas prices and support Obama’s causes; older voters support the Iraq war and perfer McCain’s plans for the war; middle age voters are stuck between McCain’s and Obama’s causes.

In this website I see a poll showing ages that would vote for ether Obama or McCain. What surprised me was that the latest poll shows that in every age group that it shows Obama is ahead. Also the poll shows that the younger age groups like Obama more. With 18-29 year olds voting the most for Obama. The poll also shows that Obama will most likely win because of the percent of the age groups want him to win. I think the numbers mean the percent out of the total amount of people that ether support Barack Obama or John McCain.
I think the in the slection by the graph that Obama is going to be presentdent. The number that strikes me the most is that over time Obama is starting to get more and more votes. But be is not getting the votes from the older citizens he is getting them from the kids that are 18 to 29 years old. I dont know why he is getting the votes from the kids. But i think that you should be getting them from the the older people.
What I noticed in this poll was that the majority of younger citizens would vote for Barrack Obama. I think this is because Obama is for a change in our country and for a lot of the younger people this is their first or second time at voting and they might have not been happy with our government so far but they couldn’t do anything to change it because they were to young to vote so they would most likely vote for the candidate who wants change and be happy that they finally get a say. Another thing I noticed was that more of the older voters want to vote for McCain and that is probably because he is in their age group. Probably not because of the issues because in my opinion Barrack Obama has the better solutions to our problems. And finally I noticed that even though as the polls get closer to the election they pretty much stay the same. Also they votes are almost tied so it is still impossible to really know who will win.
I was shocked by how many younger voters said they would vote for Barrack Obama. Barrack Obama is attracting more younger voters because Obama is more concerned about the environment. Younger people are more concerned about the environment because they will be around longer when things might start happening. John McCain is attracting older voters because he is more interested in the war and healthcare. John McCain is also iin the"older people" category. Older voters need healthcare and veterans are usually older so they would like war stuff.
what strikes my eye is that more people are going for Obama. And most of the more older people go for McCain. I think it means who is voting for Obama and McCain. The older ones go for McCain, But more go for Obama. The higher numbers for Obama strike me. Ages 18 are really going for Obama. And the people that are voting for Obama are the ones that obviously are into what he has to say. And then the people that are voting for McCain are the ones that are going for what he has to say.
Obama goes for the Health Care, so the people that really feel that easier health care, is extramly reasonable. McCain says some what different. And the people that go for him, agree with what he has to say.
I feel that more people should vote for Obama because what he has to say really makes a lot of sence. Hopefully OBAMA WINSSSS!!
Ps. This is Breana Brewer. It wouldn't let me log on D:
Accordign to the website older people vote for john mcain and younger people vote for Obama.I believe this is acurat becasue if you lived throug htimes of discrimination and Martin Luthor King you may feel compelled to vote a certain way. Also I have heard that some people feel scared of obama and that some people won't vote for him becasue his name sounds like osoma.
its not too much of a suprise that more of the younger people are voting towards obama. beacuase he seems more appealing cause he wants to end the war. unlike mccain who gets less young kids and hes stuck with the old people. the reasoni think yound people arent voitng for obama is because they dont like the amry and dont want to go so they will favor obama. and since bush and mcCain are like the sam the old people who liked bush are gonna like mccain cuase they are mostly the same
I knew that most young people in America like Obama. As of 10/5 it shows that Obama is winning 60% to 34%. One thing that I thought was wierd was as the age group goes up the less people like Obama. At the same time it also makes sense that the older age group likes McCain. From 8/4 to 10/5 the lowest Obama's vote has been is 54%
For some reason my new nick name is the Irwinator. That means you Quiad.

In the chart John mcCain is winning over Obama's percentages with 65 and older groups and Obama wins in all the other age groups.
Younger people seem to like Obama because he is black and energetic. I think that Obama is the next president to win the presidential election.
In this chart I found that the magority of Age 65 and up are voting for McCain. Why? Because McCain is very old and he has been a prisoner of war. This makes me think that the older audience knows Senator McCain a hero because of what he has done for our country. 65+ up probably like the way our country it is and wants it to stay that way, and also because McCain is more experienced, they want him for president. Even the most recent polls show that age 18-64 want Barack Obama for president. They probably want him for president because the younger people seem to be more educated about how bad our environment, health care, and economy is. Therefore they would want Obama who is promising to fix all of these things. I also think that Obama is the best choice for president.
In the chart I noticed many interesting things. I saw that the age group 18-29 year olds were rooting for Obama by a land slide compared to McCain. 30-49 year olds were mostly towards Obama. 50-64 year olds were leaning closer towards McCain than Obama. 65 year olds and above were more open to McCain than to Obama. I think that 18-29 year olds would want Obama because they are more aware about the environment and they know how Obama states that he really wants to solve this huge problem we have today. Plus he is young.30towardsObama because they are workers and parents and they want to see health care and the economy grow to be what they should be because of what Obama says. 50-64 year olds and 65 year olds and older go towards McCain because he is old, experienced, and a prisoner of war. I know this is totally opinion, but I feel that people who are 50 years old and above still have feeling about African Americans that is not acceptable. They lived in the times where African Americans were segregated, and unfortunately most still have rude feelings about them still.
The first thing that i noticed was that all of the younger voters had voted for Obama. And that all of the older voters had voted for McCain. I believe that the younger voters ages 18-29 who had voted for Obama feel that he has an understanding for all of the issues that are happening. I think that the voters realize that Obama knows that we have a bad environment. i think that older voters ages 50-64 and ages 65 feel better off with McCain. my opinion is that he is older and they may feel that he is more experienced. also that he was a prisoner of war. I think that the majority of older voters who had voted for McCain is because they feel that Obama is not ready and is not experienced enough to become the next president.
One bid thing i noticed was that most young voters from the age of 18-29 voted for barack Obama. Another thing i noticed was that many of the older voters voted for McCain. Younger voters noticed that Obama has realized that our econmic system is bad and as we know many young ones care about our enviroment. My opion is that many older ones agree with McCain and that will have a bog affect in this years election.
I noticed that most young voters are voting for Barack Obama. Most of the older voters are voting for John McCain. The younger voters are voting for Obama because they feelvthat he has a better understanding for recent happenings in our country. They feel this because he is much younger than McCain. Older voters are voting for McCain because they feel that he is more experienced. By being more experienced, McCain is thought to have a better understanding of what is happening now. They also think he knows more about the history of the United States because he is so much older. Baaically, younger voters wish to vote for Obama while older voters wish to vote for McCain.
I see that younger voters support Barack Obama and older voters support John McCain. The numbers that strike me are that 57% of 18 to 29 year olds support Barack Obama yet only 37% of 18 to 29 year olds support John McCain. Also, 38% of 65 year olds and older support Barack Obama, but 46% of 65 year olds and older support John McCain. I think this means that John McCain appeals to an older audience, and Barack Obama appeals to a younger audience. These numbers are not shocking because John McCain is old and people his age can connect with him, and agree with his decisions. Barack Obama is looking toward the future and still is pretty young for a president so a younger audience can connect with him. The numbers mean that a candidate's age can affect the way people vote and understand the candidate.
For what I can see barrack Obama has the younger American voters one his side and there is a fight between Obama and McCain for the older American voters. For ex. On sep. 29- Oct. 2 Obama held the majority of the older American votes, but back on Aug. 4-10 McCain held the majority of the older American votes. To me this means that the younger American voters are more intrigued by Obama but there is a unbalanced percentage for the older American voters. The older American voters seem to be changing to Obama’s side from McCain’s, in the time period of a few months. What seems to intrigue me the most is how close the percentages are to each other for both young and old, along with the idea that Obama has the younger American votes and McCain has the older American votes, but for some reason in the time of a few months the older voters switched over to Obama. I think that the Obama has some of every type of age and McCain is mostly favored by the older population.
Hi Team! In case you were wondering, this week's blog post will be due on Wednesday, in order to comply with our social contracts!
I noticed that at first, at the beginning of August Obama won most of the age groups except the 65 years and older. However the votes were pretty close. I also noticed that Obama got a lot more votes than McCain with the younger people ages 18-29. This is probably because they are younger and Obama is younger. Also because Obama wants to help the environment and the younger people are more worried about protecting the planet since the destruction of the environment will have severe consequences in their lifetime. More older people voted for McCain probably because McCain is old and about their age. Also McCain wants to finish the war in Iraq and the older people might think this is the safest way to protect America from terrorists. The older people might not care as much about the environment because by the time global warming affects the earth they will already be gone. This pattern of Obama greatly leading with the young people and McCain leading with the older people lasted until about August 24. During the end of August the votes for older people began to even out. August 25-31 had votes for 65 years and older at 44% for Obama and 43% for McCain. During September the votes became more even although Obama still had a huge lead with young voters. I noticed that from September 29-October 5 Obama had a large lead of 60% to 34% over McCain with 18-29 year olds. However for the rest of the votes Obama was ahead but only by a little bit. I think more people are now voting for Obama because of the horrible state our economy is in. McCain is more concerned about the war in Iraq and when the biggest concern of the American people was the war McCain was leading but now Obama is leading the election with his plans to rescue the economy.
Barak Obama has won the young people over but 30 and above its been a battle to have the most percentage. McCain has never had a sufficent lead but Obama has had the lead for the most part and looks like is the popular vote. T=the one epople are a big part in the election because it will help choose to be demoratic or republican for years to come.
There were many things that I noticed when I looked that these different poll results. First off, I noticed that the people from the ages 18-29 want Barack Obama to win. This may be because the younger people are interested in change since they may have not been able to vote yet. Also, the people who have been able to vote already in the age group of 18-29 may not have liked the way our last president has been running the country. People who are older like McCain maybe because they really actually do like him. He is older and the older people like him and that could be a reason as well. Maybe the older people feel sorry for him, after being in a war and having been held captive for so long. people who are in the middle ages are about tied. This may be because they are interested in hearing what both candidates have to say. It could also be because they haven't heard enough information, to choose someone yet. Personally, i really think our nation needs change, which is why I would vote for Obama if I could!
I think that the fact that McCain is spreading out his attention out over a bunch of different age groups. But, I belive that Obama is focusing too much on the younger crowed. McCain must belive that their is a better chance that he can win if he can win the older vote. Their is another thing about this because they could have younger relitives that are younger that they can try to influence to vote for them. But, I think that Obama's strategy caould work as well because older people could probably take less than the younger.
I think that Barak Obama will be winning this election, unless McCain does something very "big". This prediction is suppored by the charts, because McCain has been loosing votes. For example, during august 4-10 almost 10% more citizens 65 and older preferred McCain over Obama. Now, Obama has won the majority of citizens 65 years and older by 1%. I was surprised to see this because it seems like citizens are more likely to vote for someone within their age group (such as how many more younger people vote for Obama). In order for McCain to win this election, he will have to do very well this upcoming debate, and target younger voters.
In this chart I saw that as of October 5th all age groups except for ages 65 and older like Obama better than McCain. One reason that I think older people like McCain is because he is older and might concentrate on health care a lot. Of the ages; people 18-29 particularly liked Obama. The percentage was almost double with 60% for Obama and 34% for McCain. In this chart I also noticed that as time went on more people liked Obama rather than McCain. In this chart younger people like Obama. Older people like McCain. This was a cool website to see how the percentage for a certain candidate can depend on the age group.
I saw that more of the younger people want Obama and the older people want McCain. To me, this tells me that less experienced voters want someone new and "different than Bush" while the more experienced voters want someone they feel will do a good job. To me, we should listen to the more experienced voters because they now what would make our country and planet healthy than the younger voters. And they know the difference between a good canidate and a bad canidate.
There is a greter differential between McCain and Obama the younger the people are. In last weeks poll, it appeared that there was only a one percent difference in the 65 and older age group. This may be occuring because McCain is older and has more expierence so maybe the older residents of America want a more expierenced older president. The next age group being fifty to sixty-four years of age, has only a two percent difference. This may occur for the same reason as the eldest group, being they want a more expierenced president. In the next agegroup, thirty to forty-nine, the difference starts to grow. Obama has a six perecent lead in this age group because perhaps they feel the need of change more so than the older population. The last age group is 18 to twenty-nine, these people are polling sixty percent for Obama to thirty-four percent for McCain. I think this is happening because these are the youngest population who can vote and want a change in America. Also perhaps because Obama is younger than McCain and has an almost more radical change rather than staying with the course of america as McCain is planning on doing. Polls are polls and are not the outcome they are just a pre-election prediction so who knows what will really happen in 21 days from now, there is still time for change.
In the poll it shows that the older voters are voting for McCain i assume this because the older generation would like a president that they can relate to themselves and be more experience. But people ages 18-29 preferred Obama instead. I think that the numbers mean that the younger people like Obama and older people like McCain
In general the chart shows that the younger people like Obama and the older people like McCain more. What strikes me was after the Republican Convention on September 4th the percentages of McCain supporters went up in all the categories, with the younger people still wanting Obama. As memories of the convention started to fade, and the economy went bad, all categories abandoned McCain and favored Obama. This says that the public is blaming the republicans for the economic problems. They believe Obama can fix it better than McCain can so Obama's percentages went up even with the older people. Know it shows that Barack Obama is winning in all of the ages and McCain is running behind. If theses percentages seem to be going the same way, it would mean that Obama will have a better chance becoming president.
I am not surprised that Obama has more young votes sinces the younger generation of the world doesent want to have to deal with global warming and horiblle econemy. It suprises me that in some of the dates obama has more older votes then mcain does. I would expect mcain to have more older votes because many of them were there when mcain was in the army. It doesent suprise me that the middle ground is pretty mutch neautrul to either side
I'm not totally surprised about the fact that young people poll higher for Obama because it seems like they agree with his views and that more and more people are growing up to be democrats. on the other hand middle age and older people tend to have more conservative views because thats what there parents before them taught them.
Nothing really struck me as surprising. It seemed most likely that the younger people liked Obama more, even without looking at the chart. What did surprise me though was that after 29 years old, the percentage was pretty even between Obama and McCain. I thought that older people would like McCain more. I think that by looking at these numbers that Obama is more ahead in the race than McCain. One, because there are more young people. And two, because over that the numbers are pretty even. But there could have been less older people in the poll or vice versa.
When I looked at this chart first off I noticed that a higher percentage of younger and adults under 50 years of age were more likely to vote for Obama in the upcoming polls. One number that striked me was the percent of the possible votes that McCain lost over the course of the campaign. This means that Obama's chance of winning the election has increased this means McCain will have to try harder to regain his lost votes. These numbers surprise me because I would think that the older citizens that are for McCain would have kept their position and not have switched their vote to Obama.
Well,by what i see, it seems that more younger people in America are for Obama than for McCain. Like, in last weeks' poll, it showed that 60% of 18-20 year olds are for Obama, and only 34% are for McCain. But in another poll from Sep 22-28 shows that more older citizens are for McCain rather than Obama. It shows 47% of people 65 years old and older prefer John McCain, and Obama got only 43%. One poll that got my attention was the one from sep 1-7,2008. It shows that 60% of 18-29-year-olds favor Obama, while 32% favor McCain. By what i see,it shows that age also takes a big part in this election. The polls show that younger people in America are more likely to vote for Obama than McCain beause Obama is younger. But that is not always the case. Polls are just basicly predictions of what is most likely to come, but we still have 21 days till election day, so there is still time left for a change in the polls.
I saw that most younger people liked Obama, and older people tended to like McCain more. But as time went on, older people began to like Obama. After the the age 29, it was pretty close. But before that from 18, Barack
obama won by alot. I think that Barack Obama intrests young people more than older people because; McCain has been alive alot longer than Obama, so he can relate to older people. Also alot of the older population are war veterens, and so was mcCain, so he gets alot of their votes. while younger people agree with Obama for the same reason older people agree with McCain.
Obama now has a wide advantage with the 18-29 year age group. This is a lead he has held steadily since August 4-10. It may mean that younger voters want a younger president. With voters 65 years and older, McCain has gone from an 8% advantage to a 1% deficit. The range of voters ages 18-29 and 30-49, seem to be very evenly divided between the candidates. The two groups go back and forth between them although Obama now has a 6% lead with 30-49 year olds, the largest lead with the middle groups yet. The middle age groups may be more likely to vote based on the issues and not the age of the candidate.
This chart shows that the candidates are getting supported most by their own age groups. John McCain is getting supported more by people who are older than 65 years old, while Barack Obama is supported more by younger citizens. McCain’s highest percent is in over 65, but his second highest is in 30-49. While most people on the blog are saying that Obama went up and McCain went down, this is not true. The numbers for each are just changing. Some go up for McCain and down for Obama and vice versa. And these polls do not mean that Barack is going to win the election. First of all, these polls are still almost a month away from election. Second, you have to take into account the Bradley effect. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s basically more people saying that they are going to vote for a candidate then they really are. This happens the most for candidates who aren’t white. These numbers just show me that citizens like to vote for people who are closest to their age. Although the numbers aren’t actually that far apart.
Over all, these polls show that there is a larger percentage of voters that would vote for Barrack Obama. However the greatest group of voters who would vote for Obama are the Young voters, age 18-29. There are fewer young people who would vote for McCain. I think that the younger voters would vote for Obama because they have been a generation that has had to live through President Bush for the past 8 years and they would want a major change. Obama offers that change. Although the older voters have also had to live though this president they have also seen many other bad presidents during their time (though none as bad as President Bush). They would be less concerned if Obama was not made president. The percentage of voters for Obama is steadily slightly increasing, while the percentage of voters for McCain seems to be decreasing.
I have noticed that the younger people vote for Obama and the older people vote for McCain. It strikes me that Obama has a strong lead on the 18-29 year olds. And McCain has a lead on the 65+ years old. I have also been noticing that at first McCain was winning in the first couple polls but then it started to even out more. It shows how younger people favor Obama and older people favor McCain. The numbers mean that if their are more younger voters than obama will win but if their are older voters than McCain will win.

In the polls it says that most the majority of the people in between 18 and 29 have always been leaning towards Obama. The rest of the polls are mostly for Obama except for the citizens over 65 which are usually fro John McCain. There is a tossup in the other age groups and they are very close in percentage which means that this election is going to be a close but according to this graph I think that Obama has a slight lead over McCain In almost all the categories. This means That Obama Is projected to win the election… Let’s keep our fingers crossed
What I found interesting about that chart is that the younger people liked Obama more. The middle aged to the elders either favored Obama by a little bit or was a close tie. Obama overall took the liking of the 18-29 year olds. As it got from 30 to 65 years and older McCain became a little bit more popular but not enough to overcome Obama's strong overtake. From date to date the polls stayed nearly the same within a range. The numbers that didn't really shock me it more interested me is the 18-29 year olds poll of Obama winning by 60% Obama and 34% McCain. Those numbers mean that the majority of people that age are going to vote for Obama and want him to win the election. I agree with Thomas when he says if there are more younger voters Obama will have the bigger chance of winning. If there are more elders voting then McCain will have a better That is my opinion on this chart.
when i look at this first i see that most of the younger voters are going to vote for obama.and as you get older in the pols the amount of people that are going to go and vote for obama is dropping.as the polls get older they are going to vote for McCain. i think the younger voters are going to vote for obama is because they want more change and are afraid if they vote for mccain it will be another 4 years with president bush. from colin reilly

I noticed most of the people under 30 vote for Obama and most people 50+ vote macCain. I think this is because he is more experienced. The young people are more for change.
I noticed that most young people want Obama to win and more old people want McCain to win. I think this is because they want change and older people want someone with experinence. They have also heard more about McCain.
What really seems to stand out to me is that, well it seems the older people seem to like John McCain more than say Barrack Obama. No offence to John McCain
but, he is a little old. This statistic seems to be flip flopped for Obama. Instead of having most of the older people on his side, he seems to have more of the younger peoples votes. Another thing that strikes me is that, in the very beginning, over all ages, everyone preferred Barrack Obama. But now nearing the election Barrack Obama has lost a good percent of voters. What I think is that because John McCain choose a woman for vice president, he has got a small percent of those Hillary voters, which was just enough to boast him up a bit. Even this small change managed to keep him neck and neck with Barrack Obama.
Obama seems to have more votes within the younger people which may have something to do with his age being only in the 40's. while Mccain is 72 so he will probably get some of the older voters but he only leads Obama by a little bit in that age. I think some of the younger people really only remember Bush for eight years and so they automatically think that a Deocrat will do better whereas older people have seen many more presidents go in office and they now that democrats and republicans can both make mistakes. anyway is still think that a lot of older people havent made there mind up yet and when they do they could be a major deccisive factor in the election.
go Obama!!! Obama for president!!! CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN IT
Alot of these polls that were taken consists of the young voting for Barack Obama, and the older voting for John McCain, and yet, not many of the percentages were higher for Senator Barack than for Senator John McCain. One of the numbers that struck me was how many of the young people were voting for Barack, and yet not many are voting for McCain. I think that the younger people are voting for Barack Obama because the younger generations wanted change for the world, and for them. this race is so close that it's partially hard to see who is winning, but as you can see by these polls, Barack is winning by the slightest amount, due to the fact that there are more younger people than older.
In October Obama has the mostpercent of votes for every age. I could have guessed that Obama had more percent of younger people because Barack Obama targets them I think. I think more of the older people like McCain because they are both old and they have more expirenced. They have both been through the Vietnam war.I think more younger people like Obama because they can relate to him. As the months go by Obama starts to get more percent of the voters than McCain even the older voters.
In October Obama is definently ahaead in all age groups. Which dosn't stike me. But what dose strike me is how many older people (50/65) because every thing ive heard on the news sais that Obama has the yung votes but McCain has the older votes.I think this means that Barack obama is going to win the populer vote. But the farther back in time you go the higher chances McCaine has of winning and i think thats because he didnt have sarah palin running with him.
More people seem to be pro-Obama as each poll goes by. For example: for Sep. 8-14, 18 to 29 year-olds were 55% pro-Obama, in Sep. 15-21, the same age grew to 57%. The same age group grew then to 59% in the next poll. it seems the more older people are more pro-McCain than they are Obama. For example: in Sep. 8-14, there was 9% more 65 year-olds and older pro-McCain than pro-Obama.I think this may be because McCain as well is older. Being an older man, McCain might have ideas and thoughts more from past years, as will most older voters. Where as Obama is coming in with new ideas as most young people are having and supporting. All in all, Obama has the majority of young votes, and Mccaing has a bigger amount of older voters at his side.
Obama is much more popular among the younger voters. McCain is pretty close but recently lost the popular vote in over 65 group. Its seems that the younger people feel that McCain will be just like Bush and that Obama will bring good change to the U.S. The polls for 18-29 people was 65% Obama and 31% McCain further emphasizes this point. I believe that the people should be worried about what the candidates stand for not that they vote for the black President. I sure that most of those people have made and informed decision but I’m not sure that they all have and this scare me. The polls also seem to show that McCain has made some bad political move or Obama has made some good ones but McCain is losing support and this is a really bad thing this close to the election because he might not have time to gain the support back. I am surprised that the election isn’t a little more split judging by all that is going on right now.
I agree with Ethan. But I am not surprised that Obama is winning the popular votes. Most people do not want to vote for McCain because he is running with Sarah Palin. And even though it was thought that Obama would win all of the younger votes, that doesnt mean that NONE of the older will vote for him. This does not mean that McCain will not win the election. But he has the win all or most of the bigger counting states.
I can see that all the older people are for McCain because he is older and he probably has more experience than Obama. Also all the older people don't want change in the government, they like the republican government. All the younger people like Obama because he is younger and has fresh new ideas for the government. Also, most younger people want change and a democratic government, instead of republican government that we have had for years, I also want some change in government. Sadly, it is true that most older people are stuck in the old generation of white, older presidents and do not want a younger, less-experienced candidate,(especially cause he's black)representing and running our country. So, lets hope those older people open their eyes for change and vote for Obama!!! This blog was posted by Richie W.It kept saying that my password was incorrect.
The percentages of the 30-49 year olds and the 50-64 year olds are very close with both presidents. I think this is because at those ages you usually are still taking care of children. You are really wondering which president to chose that can make the best affect on your children. The yougest people, the 18-29 year olds are generally just starting the adult world and ending college. These are the ones who are voting for Obama because they want change for the world that they will be living in. Obama offers lots of change. The older people tend to vote for McCain. This is because he is the one who wants to keep our troops in Iraq to end all the violence in the Middle East by ending the war. The older people tend to care about how there worlds care affects them.
the first thing I noticed was that the young people will mostly vote for Obama. what striked me the most was that as each voting pole went on obamas votes decreased and it went to McCain. it means that some voters are changing there votes to McCain. these numbers strike me because at first obama was getting all the votes then Obama started getting less votes. the numbers are the total votes from the us depending on age

At first, many of the people 30-49 age group voted for Obama, but then towards the bottom of the chart(which got further into the past), the people in the same age group seemed to like McCain more. I also notuced that older people seemed to like McCain more than Obama. I can't figure out why this is, but I would believe that its because they can relate to him with post-wars or just being old.

I think that the older the people get the more they aren't willing to take chances. This is slightly amusing to me because I think the older you get you should WANT to take chances because you dont know when you are going to die so you might as well just live okay ive gone off on a tangent.
Back on topic:
The younger people are voting for someone who will bring change amd they want that. Older people are generally happy the way things are.
