Why do they use these words so much?

The candidates and supporters need to use these words so much. They need to do this to make their message(s) bold. The Democrat's biggest message is change and their difference from George Bush. In order to make that message clear, they repeat that word so much. Republicans support George Bush on many issues. They don't use terms like Bush and Change as often. If candidates are against something, they don't use the word as often. Democrat's are anti-Buisness. That said, they don't use word as often as Republicans who are pro-Buisness.
i agree with alex, they need to use the words alot cause they need there speeches to stand out, and also say what the people want the canidates to say. like obamas big topic is change, people will be drawn to him, Because hes mostly about changing the united states of america. you also see these words used alot cause they are the main topics for the canidates campaign to becoming president. if you dont talk about the realy big topics like the economy or health care, no one will think you can change america and witch leads to no one will vote for you.
The nominees and their supporters continuosly use words so that the people they're trying to persaude to vote for them remember the key issues that are being focused on. This is how they win over the voters. The republicans spoke mostly about god, while the democrates spoke mostly about change. Since they mentioned these topics the most, that means they're most concerned about them and will focus on doing something about them. On the other hand, the republicans spoke least about "4 more years" & "Cheney." this represents they have no concern, since the words weren't even mentioned. The democrates had nothing to say about "hockey moms" becausde they felt that was not an important discussion...
I think that they use these words to make the conversation sound more interesting. No offense to the people who really care about politics, and all of that other stuff. But I think that everything about this is boring. I dont enjoy learning about this. But I am not saying that it is a bad thing to learn about. I am just pointing out that I dont really care about the election and the past ones. They just dont interest me. That is why I do not have much to say about this conversation.
They use these words because that way people know what they are going to change about the state. They also say these words so that if a voter feels strongly about one thing and so does a candidate they will vote for that person. The voters need to know what the candidate is willing to do. I t also shows how they feel and what they want to do to make us as a country better. So these words will help you choose who you will vote for
The candidates and supporters need to use these words so many times to win peoples votes. For Obama, change, McCain, energy, Bush, health care, and economy are the 6 main 'words' he uses to enrich veiwers minds of how he would do as president of the United States. To me, Obama is all about changing everything, that to him, doesnt seem right, or 'unhealthy'. He is more worried about the money and his opponent, rather than religion, the people themselves, and their safety specifically. On the other hand McCain uses; God, Tax(es), change, Business, and energy as his 5 main 'words'. To me, McCain is mostly about Religion, the large amount of money people pay, and the people themselves if it has to do with business to their safety. I think it is extremely important to mention both the amount of words McCain and Obama are producing and the type of words to really make people click to their discion.
I think that the candadates use these words because: it helps them get there message out to people. if they know alot about the economy then they would have alot of ideas on the economy. It helps them spread there ideas.I also agree with Alex. Republicans dont use change and Bush's and cheney's name so much because they agree with him. but the democrats dont use these words because they want change, and do not agree with Bush and Cheney. But the opponinents name is being used alot on both sides, but mostly on the democrat's side. Because democrats want change. for example the democrats dont want another republican in office for other four years. The democrats use the word health care alot more than the rebublicans, because the democrats want to change it. they want to reduce the price and make it better. the rebublicans cants say that because they dont talk about it alot. I think that the presidential canidates use the word "Change" And there opponets names the most. My oppinion of why twould is that they would be either Commenting on what they are doing. When they use change i think they are they are trying to convince the pople that they will do somthing about the problems in our country. Another commonly used word is taxes. Hey even i know people have problems.
I do agree with Alex that republicans want to change what is going on, because they don’t agree with the way things are going, that is why they use the word change so much. However I think republicans and democrats are pro business…Democrats also are worried about what the republicans are doing more than the republicans are worried about the democrats. I know that because mc cane was said by the opposing party more than Obama was said by mc cane`s party. I also agree with Courtney. The words they use will show what they care about, and what they think (and don’t think) should be in America.

A)They are main issues that everbody cares about

B)If they talk about the main issues, then the voters will think that the canidates will do something about them and create change.
Well,I think that the candidates need to use these words so much because if they didn’t, they wouldn’t be able to talk about the issues. The democratic candidates would mostly talk about “Change” and the “Oconomy”. While the Republican candidates would talk about “Taxes” and “Business(es)”. Whichever candidate is for or against, they seem to talk about that issue more than others. The candidates also speak of certain words that are in concern for the voters, like some of the voters are in concern about Irauq. That is just an exaqmple of what topic the candidates sometimes talk about.
I think that the candidates repeat these words because they want to get their main point across to their listeners. If Obama used the word change so much he is getting the point across that if you elect him as your new president he will change things for the better. If McCain used the word taxes a lot it most likely means that if you elect him president he will increase or decrease taxes. Another thing that I noticed was that the Democrats used McCain’s name more than the Republicans used Obama’s name. This can be thought of in two different ways. Either the democrats are telling everyone that they respect and are being fair. Another way to think of it would be that the democrats did more bashing than the republicans. Overall both parties repeated different words. Why? Most likely to grab more people in and say to them what they want to hear.
I think that the candidates used the words that would best help their campaign. I also think that the amount of words that one party uses tells alot about what kind of leaders they will be. For example if Obama talks a lot about change than that is mostly what he will try to do as a leader,he will try to make changes. Although many people have already said this, the Democrats use the word change many times as well as Bush more than the Republicans. I think this is because the Republicans aren't as bent on change as the Democrats (obviously), and generally arent interested in changing what Bush has done to our country. The republicans used god more often, which is their technique of attracting Catholics, and probably pushing away athiests and such....*cough* OBAMA 08 *cough*
I think they use these words because thats how they get out there ideas making them short and sweet instead of going into a long desription of what there trying to get out. They also seam to use words more tan once i think they do that to drill there ideas into peoples heads. The democrats use the word bush alot i think because bush wasn't the best president and he was also a republican. so ithink they trying to tell there audience that the other republicans wont be good leaders either.
I think that the candidates uses theses words so much so that they can get their point off. Democrats biggest statement that they are trying to bring out is change. This means that if Obama gets to be president, the biggest thing that he will do is provide change to the way that America has been run over the last 8 years. Democrats also say a lot about jobs and economy shown a lot in the poll. The Republicans talk more about businesses and taxes. This means that if McCain gets elected that he will bring more or less taxes to America and jobs. The next biggest item the Democrats talk about is their opponent John McCain. I think they talk about him a lot because it is getting very close to the election day and that he seems to be trying to get more votes with negatives about his opponent. Same with John McCain. He is trying to get more votes with negatives about his opponent for more votes. In the end, both candidates say theses words more than once so that they can get their point off to Americans for what they will do for America.
Well why the candidates use those words are for the only reason of making their point. That is the reason that they spoke as well, is to make a point. As they are two different parties, different objectives are going to be expressed as they each speak. The Democratic party had its focus on "change". As Obama being the Democratic candidate running for president he is always enforcing everyone to believe he will make a change to this country in a positive way if elected. The Democratic party as well mentioned the opponent John McCain a bit more than the other words spoken. As I did not hear the Democratic party speak I can definately assume that the mention of his name was not in an abusive mannor yet not in a positive mannor. The Republican party on the other hand used the words "taxes" and "god" the most. Those words are not related in any usual way so the mention of taxes probably means the candidate is promising to decrease taxes for the people of the U.S. The mention of God may mean John McCain has his faith of winning the election in God and hopes citizens will support his faith in god and vote for him. As both parties use different words, different points are being discussed. No one side that uses certain words is better than the other. That is a matter of opinion.
The reason i think they use these words so much is because it represents their party. For example if there parties policies mostly support a change for things than they will keep using the word change. But if their party doesnt have anything to do with the other's than they will not be using that certain word. For example if you worked at McDonalds than you wouldnt be talking about Burger Kings food. A pattern i have noticed is that the Democrats talk about the opponents name more often. Also they talk more about war/iran/terorisnm. And the democrats also talk alot about Change. I have also noticed that the Republicans talk about Buisness, God and taxes. Another reason i think they use these words is because its what type of things their supporters want so they are obviously going to talk about what they are going to do for the Government and Country.
I think they use some words more than others to get their message across. After all if they just mentioned.....lets say change only once people would think ahh well they just mentioned in passing change no big deal, NEXT! Then they would move their minds onto something else like what they had for dinner. That is why I think the speakers mentioned some words alot but others barely at all because they wanted the little mentioned topic to slide off into the far corners of your mind.
I think that the two parties use these words so much because everywhere they go they have to address the serous topics. Like Change, Energy, Economy, Health care, Taxes, etc. These topics should be mentioned but there are some that I think shouldn't be mentioned like hockey mom because when you listen to a convention do you want to know that one of the vice presidents candidates is a hockey mom. Other than that I would say that the number of times they said the words was reasonable. This picture does show you something like that Obama said change more then every thing else he said, which could mean that he believes in change more than anything else. For John McCain he said god the most but I wouldn’t say that is a true topic. Then the next most said word was Taxes and again he may want to lower the taxes more than anything else. I think that this picture can be read two ways that the word that the parties said the most is what they want to do first, or people could just take it as what the biggest conflict to the candidates.
A reason that parties use repeated words like, for example Obama with, change, is because when they use the same word or sentence repeatedly it sort of makes it there slogan an so whenever that word is mentioned you can sort of reference it to that senator, or presidential hopeful and you voters are more prone to think of the main idea of a candidate instead of focusing on Obama's feelings for universal health care they think, oh Obama's for change and they dont examine his politics directly as they would without a catchy slogan.

The candidates used these words so much in order to make their messages more bold and stronger, also to point out their ideas. the Democrats said “change” and “energy the most because that’s their main campaign to encourage change and to find new forms of energy. The Republicans also used the terms “tax(es)”, “business(es)”, and “God” because in their campaign they’ll be affecting taxes, businesses, and religion the most. However although it would seem that repeating their main argument would help it but doesn’t, it only makes it seem weaker repeating the same word over and over again.
Politicians will use certain words repeatedly to give other people a certain view about them. I think that The Democrats would use the word "Change" a lot because many Americans may not be happy with the politics at the moment, and would probably want to have a change in the government. Associating Change with Obama will give voters who are not happy with the government a positive view of Obama and the Democrats. Other words that both parties used multiple times are "Energy" and "taxes" and "economy". These are words that would be used by both parties in their speeches. The Republicans would use the word "God" many times because they have many religious policies. The word "war" is also repeated because we are at war and it is a big concern to the people what the new president will do about it.

For example, Obama talks about change because that is what he is trying to do to make our country a better place. It also says a lot about jobs and economy. These are two very important subjects. The canidates say these words so much because they want to capture the listener's/reader's attention and so they may get their vote. They also use them so much to tell a group of people their promises and obligations. For example, they will talk to different groups of people differently like how they might say to southerners the word "God" because more of the majority of them would go to church (not aimed to be a steriotype). Then they might say to people in the north "Economey" or "Taxes" (again not aimed to be a steriotype). The Presidential canidates use these words to target certian majorities/minorities of voters and future voters so that the will get their vote in the next election.

Why do you think the candidates and their supporters use these particular words so often?
I think the candidates and their supporters use the words change, energy, business, economy, taxes, health care, jobs, hurricane, immigrations, September 11th, Iran, Iraq, terrorists, war, vice president, Bush, reforms, and God a lot. I think they use these words so often because, they all represented topics that U.S. are interested in. The candidates do this because they want people interested in them, so they can get their votes.
One of the words the democrats usually use is change. They use the word change because Barack Obama says he wants to change the world to become a better place. He says that he is going to do this by, conserving energy. The word energy is important to the U.S. because, right now the environment is in trouble. We have used a lot of gas, and that is polluting our environment. People also worried about making money and taxes. That is why the words health care and jobs are important.
Some words that the republicans use are vice president, war, taxes, and businesses. Republicans use the word vice president a lot because Sarah Palin is a very important republican figure. They use the word war because John McCain was a prisoner of war.
I think the democrats are trying to focus on some of the big subjects. And only mentioned others much less. How the republicans are more even focusing there efforts. But there are a few stand outs like God, taxes and change. Also the democrats mention McCain's name much more than they mention Obama's. Telling me that they are attacking him much more than the republicans are atacking Obama By that I can't really figure out what is their main priority. The bubbles with the same words are basicly in the same place on either side. But the sizes of mostly all the bubbles are different. That shows me that the candidates agree on some things but are polar opposites on others.

I think this picture is saying for one, the main issues that the speakers from each party are talking about. For example, the word "change" is used very often by the democrats, because democrats are trying to emphasize (or even exaggerate) that our economy is poor, and we need change. Phrases along the lines of "four more years" also say the same thing, that if John McCain is president, we will have more of the same. Another word used heavily by the democrats is energy. I think this reflects the feeling of the democratic party, to go on a hunt for renewable clean energy. The word economy is used alot to put stress on "how poorly we are doing" and how we need a democratic leader to make our worries vanish.
On the republican side, I think the moral of the story is similar to that of the democrats. For example, republicans are targeting businesses more. Another word that catches my eye is taxes. This says alot because the democrats plans pose a possible tax increase. They are obviously saying change less because they would be bashing their own party in a way if they made Bush look worse then he already does. the republicans are also using the word war alot, because they are making strategies for the WAR in Iraq.

Canidates use these words in order to obtain the attention of a certain group whose votes they want. For example, if a canidate is focused on those who have no or poor jobs, then they will use words that talk about creating new jobs. If a canidate is focused on those who are worried about not having insurence, then they will use words that specifically apply to them. if the voters want a change in there country, then the canidates will talk about making a change. It's something along those lines.....

I think that these parties use these words so often because that is what they believe in most, or is most important to them. For example, Democrats use "change" the most. This is probibly because the Democrats feel change is the most important aspect of their campaign. Another example is The Republicans says "God" the most because Republicans tend (im not saying all but some or most do) to be religous and they incorporate that within the campaign. I have also seen that Democrats have used "four more years" 14 times and the GOP has used that phrase zero times. This is most likely because Democrtes do not want four more years of what has been happening now in our current situation. The Repulicans dont really mind the situation due to the fact that the Republicans are in office. Lastly what struck me the most was that the Democrats used "McCain" much more frequently than the GOP said Obama. That shows me evidence that The democratic party is refering, and most likely bashing, their opponent much more often than the Republican Party bash about Barack Obama.Thats how the bubbles spoke me.

I think they the Democrats use this word so often because they believe in haveing change in this world, more than the democrats. The democrats believe in more taxes, moeny, than really trying to helkp this world. What I noticed was that Barack Obama wants mostly change, to make a difference in this word. He also wants to make this nation a better, healthier, and more stable nation, after what Preswident Goerge Bush. The Rebublicans are mostly after buisness, change, god, and taxes, but there is no real big idea that McCain is going after.
The cannadates are trying to have the voters vote for them. They are putting in the words that the canidates and mostly used in the running for preident. I think that the article is trying to get accross to the reader what the main points of the canidate are. It would make it much easier for people to understand what the author is trying to say to the reader. The article also had tried t make it easier for voters to diside between McCain and Obama as the next president. it would give you the big picture of what the canidates are saying. And what the are thinking of. That is why I think that this article is going to help the reader understand what the author is saying. It also is helping me understand what the canidates are standing for.
I think thoughs are the words they use in speaches, or all the time durring the campaign. Like how the democrats believe in taxes, or anything about money. They use thoughs words to get the people to either vote for them, or agree to what they are saying. They want change and it seems that thoughs words fit what they are trying to show the world. Its just ways to get their opinions on how the U.S should be ran.

I agree with Alex I. The parties need to use certain words many times in order to bolden, or signify their stance on things. Democrats seem to say "change" alot, because they want it so that when people think democrats, they think change. So if people want change they know democrats are going to give it. Republicans say reform more than democrats, this is so that people know republicans are here to reform. They also say taxes alot, so when your when your thining about all those taxes you have to pay you think of the republicans and how they promise to change that. I see how in many cases if there is something the candidates do not adress, their running mate address's it. I see Sarah Palin says "hockey mom" a few times, and i think this is to rope in that average soccer mom woman. So the reason these words are said repeatedly is in order to emphasize and associate the word to the party.

The words are less frequently used, I think they say because the subjects aren't that important, but they still matter. For example, The Republican Party uses the word God 43 times, because they feel that God is an important factor in winning the race, as opposed to The Democrats who did not use it as much. An example on the Democrat side would be the word change used 89 times. I think that they use this word so much, because I fell that Barack Obama wants a change from the government being run by a republican and a change from everyone talking about George Bush and how he is running the country.
Politicians on both sides have to use these words because they are what the politicians stand for. It’s hard to talk about a certain subject without using words that relate to that subject. Like try to talk about soccer without saying words like ball, goal, pass, dribble, and shoot. McCain uses some words more than Obama because these words relate more to his personal campaign than to his opponents, and vice versa. Republicans talk about taxes, God, and business because these words describe his campaign. Democrats choose different words like change to symbolize their own campaign. These are also hot buttons issues that the government has to address in speeches if they wanted support from the people. Without these words speeches would be mindless jumble about how much better their party is and insulting the other party. These are words of politics. Right know energy one of the most important things on the minds of most Americans. The government needs to address the problem; therefore words related to energy will be used a lot. This can be said about all the topics. If there is a problem, they address it and need these words. There are also words that they will try to avoid because they aren’t positive words in this case. Like many people disagree with Bush’s job as president, so McCain or any other republican would want to steer clear of saying terms like 4 more years or hard topics like Iraq war. These words are necessities to the politicians of America.
